.:Choose The Next Steps:.Chapter 22
The beeping of the machines was slowly driving her crazy. Sitting in the hospital room next to the sleeping Arden was hard enough for her to take, but the beeping sounds were what were really driving her over the edge soon. If only Jerrold would be able to accompany her, to keep other sounds coming in she wouldn’t have to be listening the goddamned beeping and Arden’s deep breathing.
After finally convincing Jerrold to stay in town, Tanya had insisted of wanting to see Arden in the hospital. Apparently though Jerrold had some other plans, but he was willing to let the woman go alone, for once. After all, according to him, the environment would be safe enough to keep her under the watch at all times, so there wasn’t as big of a worry of anything happening to her.

“What do you mean ‘you want to stay put’?” The look on Jerrold’s face was filled with disbelieve, as if he hadn’t heard her right on the first time. Tanya stood on the bedroom door, arms crossed over her chest as she glared at him, while Jerrold was trying to be busy with packing away their luggage, having an open suitcase lying in the middle of the twin bed.
“Just exactly what I said,” Tanya stated, not moving from her spot as she continued to give icy looks into Jerrold’s direction. “We are not going anywhere. You can’t do that to him.”
“Trust me, that’s what Arden would have wanted. Besides –“
“There is no besides, Jerrold!” Her arms dropping, the woman cocked her head slightly to the side, making coils of her hair fall down to cover her shoulder. “We
